Another defence used on occasion is that of abnormal use. In Rae v. T. Eaton (Maritimes) Ltd., the manufacturer was absolved of liability for an injury to a child's eye when a can of artificial snow exploded while being banged on concrete, since "in its normal use, or in reasonably foreseeable use, (it) was harmless." It might be otherwise, said the court, if the can fell off a Christmas tree or was dropped from arm's height or from a shelf because this might be expected. 1, record 1, English, - abnormal%20use

2, record 1, French, - emploi%20abusif
